Sharing my passion for holistic skincare and wellness

My passion for skincare and massage started at an early age. My family holds touch in high esteem, and I fondly remember receiving massages on almost a daily basis from my mother and older sister.

  • I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies from South Dakota State University in 2002; my emphasis focused on non-verbal communication and movement education. I've been a licensed massage therapist since 2005, and I established The Nook in 2007. My love for massage enabled me to perform over 10,000 hours (and counting) of bodywork during my career. In 2009, I also became a licensed esthetician; although, I feel like a lifelong student of the profession of being a beauty practitioner.

Working under a local dermatologist from 2014 to 2018 was an integral experience on my journey to a holistic approach to wellness. During those years, I provided medical treatments such as microneedling and advanced chemical peels. Now, I practice a dark green esthetic philosophy. We’re beautiful just the way we are, evolving naturally and slowly. We have the power to take over our health and our beauty routine. We don’t need to get caught up in the latest fads or drastic cosmetic measures – trying to fix or change something.

I discovered we can do amazing things with clean products, consistent routines, and our HANDS. I value the medical education and expertise, but I channeled my energy into developing functional, whole person skincare. I still embrace LED treatments in some of my facials; all of which use whole plant, organic topical treatments. My facials are a massage, and I tailor my sessions to address your needs from a holistic view.

Your personalized sessions create long-lasting, positive changes and result in glowing beauty. As part of my practice, you receive customized suggestions and strategies, which empowers you to take your skin transformation and lasting health into your own hands. Together we will reach, maintain, and (possibly) even exceed your skincare goals.

Wellness at Heart.

I chose to pursue a career in massage therapy after discovering the western medicine 'machine' while working towards becoming a nurse. The more I began to learn about the healthcare industry, the more I realized that they provided 'sick care.' I wanted to provide 'health care' and nurture from a mind-body-spirit approach rather than providing drugs to treat compounding symptoms.

  • I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2003, and I have enjoyed being a massage instructor over the years.

I have been a licensed massage therapist since 2003, and I have enjoyed being a massage instructor over the years.

I am confident that I can help heal the deepest of stresses and injuries. I maximize the effectiveness of the treatment by treating mind-body-spirit. The Nook’s peaceful environment, conducive to relaxation and stress relief, assists the mind. I specialize in Deep Tissue Massage, Integrative Massage, and Swedish Massage (all of which benefit the body through soft tissue manipulation). Throughout my extensive practice, I developed treatments utilizing reflexology and energy clearing to treat the spirit.

I believe in a self-sustaining life; thus, I grow a vegetable garden and raise ducks and chickens.  In the evenings, my little family sings and dances as we cook. During my spare time, I enjoy taking my 3 children camping.  We love spending time in nature!

I am excited to grow a new clientele at The Nook while fulfilling my life’s goal of fostering health and happiness.

Well-rounded Care.

I began to connect my passion and experience in massage with skincare. After years of training and experience in massage therapy, I have studied and learned about the human body and how it works.

  • Knowing the body as a massage therapist has paved the road for me as a skin care specialist. As an esthetician, I perform nature-based treatments to promote the health and beauty of the skin.

What I have learned is that everything is connected. There are connections from our physical, emotional, and mental well-being that others can read on our faces. Our facial skin appearance is the result of many physical body relationships working properly such as ph balance, muscle tone, circulation, and hormonal balance.

Muscle structure is the foundation of how well our skin looks. If my client is stressed, the effect on the facial muscles can result in skin puffiness, redness, and fine lines. Treating the muscles and underlying tension is one of my main focuses. Having dual certifications and a training base helps me bring in a deep knowledge of muscle relaxation and tension relief. It is with this experience and understanding that I can provide skincare and help address overall body health.

My goal is to provide each of my esthetics clients with therapy designed to address their unique needs.  I desire to help people look, and more importantly feel rejuvenated and happy.

Outside of my profession, I enjoy time with family, coaching volleyball, powerlifting, and anything outdoors.

Table Thai Massage Specialist

I have been interested in how our body works for as long as I can remember. After graduating from Black Hills State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry in 2010, I worked in a pathology lab. There I got an in-depth look at what dis-ease does to the body and felt there had to be other options for health maintenance.

  • I graduated from massage school in 2015 and fell in love with it as an alternative to healthcare. I have worked in private practice, for a chiropractor and as a massage instructor which has allowed me to continue to learn and grow as a massage therapist. I am specialized in Swedish massage, prenatal massage, and cupping but my passion is Table Thai massage in which passive stretching is utilized to obtain relaxation, rejuvenation, and pain relief. I look forward to expanding my clientele here at the Nook. When I am not working, I enjoy spending time cooking and camping with friends and family.

    Table Thai Massage- 60, 75, 90 minutes

Fun Loving Adventurer

Hello! My name is Veronica, but most people call me Vee. I grew up in the frigid land of North Dakota and ended up settling in the Black Hills about 19 years ago.

I enjoy the hiking, camping, and 4-wheeling and all that the Black Hills has to offer.

  • I’ve had the pleasure of working in customer service and the food industry-I make a mean lasagna.

Anatomy, physiology, and the mind-body connection fascinates me. I’m known for my deep, precise pressure.

I love helping clients feel better while always improving and growing in my field. I can’t wait to see you on the table!
